Focus is always on making Client happy. Developers are always ignored.
Unfortunately I see software firms hire research companies to provide
then the road-map to go forward in the market. They provide this research work
to organization who charges them big pool of money. If the same amount of money
can be given to software developer with 2 months/year for their research work
with advancement of technology coming up then the frustration of software
developer can be reduced up to some level.
Another incident for me to get
frustrated with software industry culture, People keeps looking for making
client happy. I know it is really imperative to make client happy otherwise
from where we will get the money for which we & our organization are working.
Along with keeping client happy if we will focus little bit towards keeping our
team members satisfaction then this industry will emerge as best place to work
for. Believe me it will increase the productivity significantly.
Senior management keep focusing on
business lines, key markets, sales team strategy, marketing strategy however
they don’t have time to think about the software developer who actually makes
the difference by delivering what client is expecting to get.
Organization should hire research
groups within organization to come up with strategy for keeping workforce happy & satisfied. Otherwise they will keep looking for market strategy without getting much
benefit out of it.
Organization should encourage
software developer to come up with idea how they can do the research in
market. This initiative not only will motivate software developer to look
beyond the daily routine work but also give them the opportunity to grow &
think from broader perspective.
