Now a days, Most of the software engineers are running towards money rather thinking about how they can become innovative to come up with new ideas. Most of them start their day with what all work are assigned to them by their leader & manager. They invest their entire day to just accomplish what is being assigned to them rather thinking about how they can innovate new things that would change the world around them.
That seems to me a fundamental problem why software engineers are not thinking innovatively. We are so much busy of doing assigned work to get our money & good appraisal at the end of the year. Few of us take one step ahead & not only completes their assigned work but also helps other to accomplish their work. But those just make few extra bucks than others but still are they really engineers. I mean what exactly are we doing is really not gonna help in long run. As technology is rapidly being transform now a days so the customers are. Customers wants to adopt these new technology transformation as soon as possible to remain in competition.
We as software engineer should also be ready to adopt these changes & be ready to remain in competition otherwise it will be very difficult for survive in IT software industry where the profit is being squeezing day by day. Believe me there are few talented folks who keep transforming themselves are still making lot of money without even worrying about what would happen to them if organization decides to laid off their employees.
Now the question arise, Can every software engineer do this? My answer is "NO". But all of us can try without thinking whether we will be successful or not. It does 2 magical thing. One gives confidence & other is make you ware what is happening in the technology arena.
Believe it or not, I have seen lot of software engineer who does not even bother to know what exactly happening in technology world. If they don't know what exactly happening around us then how would I know what should I do to remain competitive.
My simple advise to all software engineer out there - Please make a habit to start your day with exploring google to know the new technology trends & what all markets/Domain are going to be impacted with. Top of everything what we can do as a software engineer & how can we change the world.
